The day that helped define the 20th century started as a typical Sunday morning in 14-year-old Janice Hobson’s home in Honolulu, Hawaii. An Ink Spots song, “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire,” was playing on the radio. The only oddity was that her dad, usually the first one up, was sleeping late. It was almost 8 a.m.
But it wasn’t a normal Sunday. Someone was setting the world on fire.
Janice heard a car horn blowing across the street. From a window, she saw a neighbor, Edward Bogan — who, like her dad, Sebaldus, served in the Navy — running with his young daughter in his arms.
“He jumped out of the car, grabbed the little girl and went up these steps to our house screaming, ‘The g-d Japs are bombing the hell out of Pearl Harbor!’” she said…

What the majority of the members of the curia and hierarchy seem to have managed to do, quite unknowingly - is to recreate nearly globally the same harsh and frightening years of the past childhood years growing up. It seems to be the reason that Pope Francis, who grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina - a social environment that was far from being antigay, it is where men have danced the tango together since the late 1800s to the present - it is the complete opposite social environment from Nazi Germany and Europe that was inundated with the fierce highly publicized antigay attacks that were deadly (than one can imagine) on the Catholic Church, it seems to be the reason why Pope Francis is always speaking about the curia and clergy to be more joyful. It seems quite possible that this joyless state stems from their early childhood years, including the obsessive worry about homosexuals being exposed or blackmailed by a third party similar to the Gestapo i.e. Lepanto Group - wealthy ultraconservative - Aggressive about only 2 issues - keeping Gays out of the Church and maintaining - untouched global markets.

Sir Ian Kershaw, who wrote a biography of the Nazi tyrant, is concerned about the nationalism that propelled President Trump to power.
The historian attacked the outspoken Republican, whose 'Muslim ban' has sparked widespread controversy, as a "threat to the rule of law".

U.S. politics have become increasingly colored by an apocalyptic world view, promoted by certain fundamentalist Christians, that fosters hatred, fear and intolerance, said an influential Jesuit magazine.
In fact, this world view shares some similarities with Islamic fundamentalism since "at heart, the narrative of terror shapes the world views of jihadists and the new crusaders" and is drawn from wellsprings "that are not too far apart," said La Civilta Cattolica, the Jesuit journal reviewed by the Vatican before publication.
The article, appearing in the mid-July/August edition and released online July 13, was written by the journal's editor, Jesuit Father Antonio Spadaro, and Marcelo Figueroa, an evangelical Christian, who is the director of the Argentine edition of the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano. Written in Italian, an English version was released on www.laciviltacattolica.com.
Titled: "Evangelical Fundamentalism and Catholic Integralism: A surprising ecumenism," the article looks at the growing similarities in the rhetoric and world views adopted by evangelical fundamentalists and some "militant" Catholic hardliners.
More specifically, it also looks at how this rhetoric and mindset have seeped into U.S. culture and politics, including in some electoral campaigns and government administrations, such as that of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Hundreds of people turned out to see the public punishment, held at a mosque in Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh province, filming the caning on their phone cameras. It is very rare, even in Aceh, which follows strict Islamic law, for two men to be caned for having sexual relations.

A Brazilian bishop said on July 30 that homosexuality is a “gift from God.” After the reactions generated by his homily,Bishop Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos, appointed by Pope Francis in 2014, sent out a statement saying that he wanted to “save lives,” after learning about the high statistics of suicide among transgender people.
ROME - A Brazilian bishop said July 30 that homosexuality is a “gift from God.” Seeing the reaction his homily generated, Bishop Antônio Carlos Cruz Santos of Caicó then released a statement saying that his only scope was to “save lives,” after learning about the high statistics of suicide among the LGBT community.
“If it is not a choice, if it is not a disease, in the perspective of faith it can only be a gift,” the bishop of Caicó in the Rio Grande do Norte state said during his homily at a Mass closing feast of Santana de Caicó, always marked on the Sunday following the feast of Sts. Joachim and Anne.
“The gospel par excellence is the gospel of inclusion,” said the bishop. “The gospel is a narrow door, yes, it is a demanding love, but it is a door that is always open.
“When you look at homosexuality, you cannot say it’s an option,” Cruz said, adding that a choice has to be made freely, while sexual orientation is something a person discovers “one day.”…
The bishop then said that homosexuality hasn’t been considered as a disease by the World Health Organization since the 1990s, and given this, and the fact that a person doesn’t choose to be gay, same-sex attraction can only be “a gift from God. Pope Francis congratulates gay couple for baptizing children

Pope Francis has congratulated a gay Brazilian couple for baptizing their three adopted children in the Roman Catholic church.
Toni Reis and David Harrad’s three children — Alyson, 16, Jessica, 14 and Felipe, 11 — were baptized on April 23 at a cathedral in the city of Curitiba, which is located in southern Brazil.
Reis, who is president of Grupo Dignidade, a Brazilian LGBT advocacy group, told the Washington Blade on Tuesday in an email that he sent a letter and pictures to Francis “telling him about the baptism” in June. Reis, Harrad and their family then took a month-long vacation to Europe.
Reis told the Blade a letter on official Vatican letterhead with a signed picture of Francis “were waiting for us” when he and his family returned home.
The letter was dated July 10.
“Pope Francis wishes you happiness, invoking for your family the abundance of divine graces in order to live steadfastly and faithfully as good children of God and of the church,” wrote Monsignor Paolo Borgia of the Vatican Secretariat of State in Portuguese.
Borgia also wrote that Francis asked Reis and his family to “pray for him.” …

I am waiting for a response to my request that I made in a letter I sent to Bishop David J. Walkowiak (a copy provided below) - to meet and dialogue about the curia’s irrational attempt to remove me from the priesthood - completely void of any science on sexual orientation of homosexuality accumulated over the past 60 years. This complete absence of science - identifies the curia’s breach in the dialogue between science and religion on the subject of homosexuality that Pope Benedict XVI warns must be maintained continuously because it is what gives light to truth and value to the meaning of love. Benedict stresses the fundamental catastrophic implications to human development that occurs without this ongoing dialogue between science and religion - it destroys truth and without truth there is no love. Benedict states in Caritas in Veritate 2009:

It falls prey to contingent subjective emotions and opinions, the word “love” is abused and distorted, to the point where it comes to mean the opposite. Truth frees charity from the constraints of an emotionalism that deprives it of relational and social content, and of a fideism that deprives it of human and universal breathing-space. Over the past several decades - this blatant arbitrary disregard of science by the majority of the members of the curia and hierarchyhas taught people globally to do the same. This is especially identifiable in regards to the science of climate change. It has taught people that a diligent search for the truth is unnecessarily - being ignorant is acceptable. We begin to see how these hierarchical members of the Church have by their example instigated the meaning of love to be twisted around to mean the exact opposite. This is true of their example of attempting to disposed of me in secret and all the while Pope Francis was on his trip traveling to the USA from the 19 to 27 of September 2015. It was imperative for them that I be disposed of quickly and in secret in order to prevent any open discussion of the science of the gay sexual orientation could become public. This same ruthless tacit has been used on countless of others in the Church who openly discussed the emerging science on homosexuality or were publicly supportive of gay people - notably beginning in the late 1960s.

In 1945 Dr. Evelyn Hooker, a UCLA psychologist, and her husband sat down for a nightcap at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco with her former student Sam From and his male partner. Sam told Dr. Hooker that it was her responsibility to study “normal” homosexuals to show the world what they were really like—to challenge the commonly held belief that gay people were by nature mentally ill. Dr. Hooker took up the challenge soon after, but then life intervened, derailing her research until 1953, when she secured an unlikely government grant to pursue a study comparing 30 straight men to 30 gay men.
Three years later Dr. Hooker presented the results of her study at the 1956 American Psychological Association (APA)convention in Chicago. She rocked the profession by demonstrating that gay men were just as sane as straight men. While it would be another seventeen years before the American Psychiatric Association would remove homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual’s list of mental illnesses, it was Dr. Hooker’s study that paved the way, legitimizing homosexuality as a respectable field of study…

Evelyn Hooker’s groundbreaking research exploded the notion that homosexuality was a mental illness, ultimately removing it from the DSM.
In 1953, Evelyn Hooker, PhD, applied for a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) grant to conduct research on “normal homosexuals.” During this period of American history, Sen. Joseph McCarthy was seeking out communists wherever he suspected they might be lurking; homosexual acts were a crime; bomb shelters were springing up in backyards; and the term “normal” homosexual was thought to be an oxymoron. A variety of medical and psychological treatments to “cure” homosexuality were employed, including ice pick lobotomies, electroshock, chemical castration with hormonal treatment or aversive conditioning. Gay parties were raided by the police, particularly in election years when a crackdown on “sexual perversion” was seen as a positive step in the fight on crime...
Hooker’s proposal to study gay men began as a result of a close friendship she developed with a former University of California, Los Angeles, student, Sam From, who introduced her to the gay subculture. She became one of the heterosexuals “in the know.” It was From who told her it was her “scientific duty” to study homosexuals and promised her access to all the subjects she needed. Initially she demurred but eventually, with the encouragement of From and her colleague Bruno Klopfer, Hooker began an investigation that would ultimately result in the removal of homosexuality as a form of psychopathology from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual III of the American Psychiatric Association. This research was the culmination of Hooker’s lifelong interest in social justice.
Humble beginnings
Evelyn Hooker was born Evelyn Gentry Sept. 2, 1907 in North Platte, Neb., the sixth of nine children…Her family was quite poor, and neither parent was educated past fourth grade. Her adolescence was colored by these social stigmata; she attributed her study of “an oppressed, deprived people,” (homosexual men) to her early experience (Garnets & Kimmel, 2003, p. 36)…she completed her doctorate in experimental psychology at Johns Hopkins University in 1932…A fellowship in 1937–38 took her to Berlin to pursue her increasing interest in clinical psychology at the Institute for Psychotherapy. She lived with a Jewish family and witnessed, with dismay, Hitler’s rise to power. Much later, after her return to the United States, she learned that all members of her host family perished in the concentration camps.
A trip to the Soviet Union at the end of her fellowship year exposed her to another totalitarian regime…
…Evelyn Hooker returned to her research on gay men…she decided to apply for a grant from NIMH. The chief of the grants division, John Eberhart, flew out to interview her to see who this woman was who claimed she had access to any number of gay men who were neither psychiatric patients nor prisoners. He told her, given the climate of McCarthyism, everyone was being investigated and if she got the grant, “you won’t know why and we won’t know why” (1993, p. 450). (Eberhart later told Hooker that her project was derisively referred to as “The Fairy Project” by some federal officials in Washington.) Funding was granted and Hooker embarked on her study…
…Hooker reported that one of the most exciting days of her life was the day she presented the results of her research at APA’s 1956 Annual Convention in Chicago. This ground-breaking research and the work that followed on the homosexual subculture led to Hooker’s award in 1992 for Distinguished Contribution to Psychology in the Public Interest from APA. In her response to this honor, she shared the award with the gay and lesbian community and expressed pleasure that her research and her “long advocacy of a scientific view of homosexuality” could make their lives and the lives of their families better. She closed her address by reading from a letter she had received from a gay man thanking her for her work and saying, “I think you did it because you knew what love was when you saw it, and you knew that gay love was like all other love.”

...Her most significant work was a paper delivered in 1956 to the American Psychological Association in Chicago and published the next year as ''The Adjustment of the Male Overt Homosexual'' in The Journal of Projective Techniques.
Dr. Hooker administered three standard personality tests, including the Rorschach ink-blot test, to two groups of 30 men, one heterosexual, one homosexual, who had been matched in I.Q.'s, age and education levels.
She then asked a panel of expert clinicians to assess the results without knowing the subjects' sexual orientation. To their surprise, the judges were unable to discern between the two groups on the basis of the test.
''The most striking finding of the three judges,'' Dr. Hooker wrote, ''was that many of the homosexuals were very well adjusted. In fact, the three judges agreed on two-thirds of the group as being average to superior in adjustment. Not only do all homosexuals not have strong feminine identification, nor are they all 'somewhat paranoid,' but, according to the judges, some may not be characterized by any demonstrable pathology.''...

What their (the majority of the members of the curia and hierarchy) obsessive suppression of the science of homosexuality has generated in the past 60 years - is a toxic twisted form of love that has sustained the potency of the ignorance of societal prejudges against gay people, which would have otherwise been eradicated - destroyed completely. Instead, this toxic antigay prejudices became an invaluable weapon that was exploited to be used as a political wedge to usher people, such as Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany in the 1930s into elected offices. WASHINGTON…Fabrications have long been a part of American politics. Politicians lie to puff themselves up, to burnish their résumés and to cover up misdeeds, including sexual affairs. (See: Bill Clinton.) Sometimes they cite false information for what they believe are justifiable policy reasons. (See: Lyndon Johnson and Vietnam.)
But President Trump, historians and consultants in both political parties agree, appears to have taken what the writer Hannah Arendt once called “the conflict between truth and politics” to an entirely new level.
From his days peddling the false notion that former President Barack Obama was born in Kenya, to his inflated claims about how many people attended his inaugural, to his description just last week of receiving two phone calls — one from the president of Mexico and another from the head of the Boy Scouts — that never happened, Mr. Trump is trafficking in hyperbole, distortion and fabrication on practically a daily basis.
In part, this represents yet another way that Mr. Trump is operating on his own terms, but it also reflects a broader decline in standards of truth for political discourse. A look at politicians over the past half-century makes it clear that lying in office did not begin with Donald J. Trump. Still, the scope of Mr. Trump’s falsehoods raises questions about whether the brakes on straying from the truth and the consequences for politicians’ being caught saying things that just are not true have diminished over time…
Over the past two decades, institutional changes in American politics have made it easier for politicians to lie. The proliferation of television political talk shows and the rise of the internet have created a fragmented media environment. With no widely acknowledged media gatekeeper, politicians have an easier time distorting the truth…
But other presidential lies, like Mr. Trump’s false claim that millions of undocumented immigrants had cast ballots for his opponent in the 2016 election, are far more substantive, and pose a threat, scholars say, that his administration will build policies around them.
The glaring difference between Mr. Trump and his predecessors is the sheer magnitude of falsehoods and exaggerations; PolitiFact rates just 20 percent of the statements it reviewed as true, and a total of 69 percent either mostly false, false or “Pants on Fire.” That leaves scholars like Ms. Goodwin to wonder whether Mr. Trump, in elevating the art of political fabrication, has forever changed what Americans are willing to tolerate from their leaders.
“What’s different today and what’s scarier today is these lies are pointed out, and there’s evidence that they’re wrong,” she said. “And yet because of the attacks on the media, there are a percentage of people in the country who are willing to say, ‘Maybe he is telling the truth.’”

This massive and relentlessly ruthless hierarchical antigay behavior has validated the truth of the science that I came out on March 1997 to protect children from the lifelong harmful effects caused by being raised in antigay social environments.
The majority of the members of the curia are European who grew up during their early childhood years in the aftermath of Hitler’s highly publicized “immorality” trials of falsely accusing the outspoken anti-nazi Catholic clergy of being homosexuals. Hitler did this in order to silence and remove them to concentration camps where many of them were killed. Needless to point out this, of course, created, an extremely lethal antigay social environment. The enduring antigay after effects caused to them has been clearly demonstrated by their nearly lockstep collective hostile and emotional reactions against gay people particularly gay priests.
This also includes, such people as Cardinal Sarah (born June 15, 1945, Ourouss, Guinea, West Africa) and Cardinal Burke (born June 30, 1948 in Wisconsin) - considering the antigay social environments in which they were raised. Together, as documented in the news media and by their own pronouncements - expressed by their heightened antigay obsession and their complete avoidance of any discussion on the science of homosexuality.

Same-sex acts are illegal in Guinea. The Penal Code 1998 Article 325 states that “Any indecent act or act against nature committed with an individual of the same sex will be punished by six months to three years of imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 to 1,000,000 Guinean francs.” The US State department has incorrectly reported in the past that there are no laws against homosexuality. It further reports that there have not been any prosecutions under this law, although the Guinean government recently created a special investigation unit dedicated to moral offences including homosexuality. Guinea has anti-discrimination laws on the books, but they do not apply to the LGBT community.
Official prosecutions of any sort are relatively rare in Guinea, and communities often function outside legal frameworks. For example, an article121 from the Guinean newspaper Aminata describes a young gay man whose sexual preference became known in his community in the suburbs of Conakry. Community members accused him of sending lewd and threatening text messages, so they set a trap, gathered a mob, and attacked the young man. A friend intervened and saved the young man from death by lynching. The young man was then handed over the local authorities, but not before being attacked by another mob there again. A government official, upon accepting the young man into police custody, says that he will solve the problem and eradicate the social evil of homosexuality that does not fit with tradition. The story does not follow-up on the fate of the young man after being transferred to police custody. It is unlikely he ever saw trial or officially prosecuted… Photo

The contrast, of Pope Francis’s treatment of gay people - is so strikingly the complete opposite reaction of hate and aggression - rather it is one of love and friendliness. …In February 1937 Hitler made it plain to his inner circle that he did not want a ‘Church struggle’ at this juncture. The time was not ripe for it…The anti-clericalism and anti-Church sentiments of the grass-roots Party activists simply could not be eradicated…The stranglehold that the Churches maintained over the values and mentalities of large sections of the population was an obvious thorn in the side of a Movement with its own highly intolerant ‘world-view’, which saw itself as making a total claim on soul as well as body. The assault on the practices and institutions of the Christian Churches was deeply embedded in the psyche of National Socialism…
At the same time, the activists could draw on the verbal violence of Party leaders towards the Churches for their encouragement. Goebbels’s orchestrated attacks on the clergy through the staged ‘immorality trials’ of Franciscans in 1937 – following usually trumped-up or grossly exaggerated allegations of sexual impropriety in the religious orders – provided further ammunition. And, in turn, however much Hitler on some occasions claimed to want a respite in the conflict, his own inflammatory comments gave his immediate underlings all the licence they needed to turn up the heat in the ‘Church struggle’, confident that they were ‘working towards the Führer’.
Hitler’s impatience with the Churches prompted frequent outbursts of hostility. In early 1937, he was declaring that ‘Christianity was ripe for destruction’ (Untergang) , and that the Churches must yield to the ‘primacy of the state’, railing against any compromise with ‘the most horrible institution imaginable’…However, he indicated that at some point in the future Church and state would be separated, the Concordat of 1933 between the Reich and the Vatican dissolved (to provide the regime with a free hand), and the entire force of the Party turned to ‘the destruction of the clerics (Pfaffen)’…
Addressing the Gauleiter in mid-March, Hitler announced that he wanted ‘no ordinary victory’ over the Churches. Either one should keep quiet about an opponent (totschweigen), or slay him (totschlagen), was how he put it. In April, Goebbels reported with satisfaction that the Führer was becoming more radical in the ‘Church Question’, and had approved the start of the ‘immorality trials’ against clergy.
