'Don't worry, be happy'
by Cathy Lynn Grossman – USA Today

Catholic bloggers are agog (ablog?) over a leading Catholic cardinal's comments that the Church should give new respect for divorced people and committed gay couples and develop a morality based on happiness.

Schönborn attacks Sodano and urges reform
Christa Pongratz-Lippitt - 8 May 2010 – The Tablet

The head of the Austrian Church has launched an attack of one of the most senior cardinals in the Vatican, saying that Cardinal Angelo Sodano, dean of the College of Cardinals, “deeply wronged” the victims of sexual abuse by Catholic clergy when he dismissed media reports of the scandal. In a meeting with editors of the main Austrian daily newspapers last week, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, the Archbishop of Vienna, also said the Roman Curia was “urgently in need of reform”, and that lasting gay relationships deserved respect. He reiterated his view that the Church needs to reconsider its position on re-married divorcees. Photo  --- Photo

On Easter Day, Cardinal Sodano called the mounting reports of clerical sex abuse “petty gossip”. This had “deeply wronged the victims”, Cardinal Schönborn said, and he recalled that it was Cardinal Sodano who had prevented Joseph Ratzinger, then a cardinal, from investigating allegations of abuse made against Cardinal Hans Hermann Groer, the previous Archbishop of Vienna, who resigned in disgrace in 1995. Read more – by Christa Pongratz-Lippitt – The Tablet ------ Photo

Galileo - Bible Misinterpretations - Homosexuality?
http://fathermartykurylowicz.blogspot.com/2010/02/galileo-condemned-as-heretic_10.html

The result is a tragedy that marks both the end of Galileo's liberty and the end of the Italian Renaissance. Read more
Marriage Equality -> Restores
Hope of Love
 To Children In Early Childhood

My coming out 1997, as a gay Catholic priest was not about me.  Like Galileo, all I have is a little piece of truth about the facts of growing up gay. Marriage Equality will not become a reality until people learn that its most vital purpose is that it restores the hope of love to children in early childhood essential to their development and wellbeing for life. Without Marriage Equality we teach children how to hate love and how to be mean and indifferent to people as adults. With all due respect, without Marriage Equality we would teach them in much the same way as has been shown by Benedict XVI and the hierarchy, especially in their lack of care and protection of children for decades. Read more

Kids Are Being Hurt!!!

“Someday, maybe, there will exist a well-informed, well considered and yet fervent public conviction that the most deadly of all possible sins is the mutilation of a child’s spirit.” Erik Erikson

…whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6

Protect children and the entire world will be safe.

Important note: No disrespect meant to Pope Benedict XVI or the hierarchy, the one and only concern is the safety and well-being of children.
