…Pope Francis' decision to postpone and widen the planned 2022 synod is extraordinary and invites everyone to stop and take a deep breath. The planned subject — "For a synodal Church: communion, participation and mission" — remains the same but the new means adopted are now more intrinsically suited to such a topic.
The Synod of Bishops has been changing in the 21st century. Previously, under Pope John Paul II, they were stale events, with bishops reading canned speeches and amending a text that had been prepared in advance. Pope Benedict XVI introduced the innovation of allowing anyone to speak on any topic in the final hour of each day's general assembly, what I called "the karaoke hour." Pope Francis has further increased the amount of genuine dialogue at each synod and now will broaden that dialogue with a universal period of preparation at the diocesan level, followed by a continent-wide dialogue, and finally the meeting in Rome.
What is more, as Cardinal Mario Grech, secretary-general of the Synod of Bishops, made clear in announcing the new schedule, the consultation is intended to include the whole people of God. "The governing principle of this consultation of the people of God is contained in the ancient principle 'that which touches upon all must be approved by all,' " Grech said in an interview. "This is not about democracy, or populism or anything like that. Rather, it is the church that as the people of God, a people who by virtue of baptism, is an active subject in the life and mission of the church.”…

Washington — With the internal battle in the House Republican conference over the future of the party poised to reach its culmination in the coming days with a vote to oust Congresswoman Liz Cheney from GOP leadership, Congressman Adam Kinzinger said his Republican colleagues need to stop "peddling in conspiracies" and admit President Biden fairly won the 2020 presidential election.
"Tell people the truth and quit peddling in conspiracies, because that's what we've seen in this party," Kinzinger, of Illinois, said of his fellow Republicans in the House who have maintained loyalty to former President Donald Trump. "They're going to get rid of Liz Cheney because they'd much rather pretend that the conspiracy is either real or not confront it than to actually confront it and maybe have to take the temporary licks to save this party and the long-term of this country."

Cheney, the Republican Conference chair, survived an attempt in February to oust her from her post, but tensions have risen with House GOP leaders as she remained steadfast in her opposition to Mr. Trump continuing to lead the GOP due to his role in the January 6 assault on the Capitol. Cheney was among the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach the former president for incitement of insurrection, and she has repeatedly criticized Mr. Trump for continuing to claim the presidential election was stolen, while urging her GOP colleagues not to accept his falsehoods…
Kinzinger, an ally of Cheney's, said the Wyoming Republican has simply been saying what McCarthy himself argued in the immediate wake of the insurrection — that Mr. Trump bore responsibility for the attack — and has been doing so consistently while McCarthy backed off his criticisms.
"What the reality is as a party, we have to have an internal look and a full accounting as to what led to January 6," the Illinois Republican said. "Right now, it's basically the Titanic. We're like in the middle of this slow sink. We have a band playing on the deck, telling everybody it's fine, and meanwhile as I've said, Donald Trump is running around trying to find women's clothing to get on the first lifeboat. I think there's a few of us saying, 'Guys, this is not good, not just for the future of the party, but this is not good for the future of this country.'"

BERLIN (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - The Catholic Church has lost touch with the “living reality” of LGBT+ people, said one of more than 100 German priests who are defying the Vatican this week by blessing same-sex couples.
In a move that angered liberals within the 1.3 billion-member Church, the Vatican’s doctrinal office said in March that priests cannot bless same-sex unions in lieu of marriage, despite ministers doing so in countries such as Germany.
“If we say that God is love, I cannot tell people who embrace loyalty, unity and responsibility to each other that theirs is not love, that it’s a fifth-or sixth-class love,” said Christian Olding, a priest in the western city of Geldern…

1. The disease of thinking we are “immortal”, “immune” or downright “indispensable”, neglecting the need for regular check-ups. A Curia which is not self-critical, which does not keep up with things, which does not seek to be more fit, is a sick body…
2. Another disease is the “Martha complex”, excessive busy-ness. It is found in those who immerse themselves in work and inevitably neglect “the better part”: sitting at the feet of Jesus (cf. Lk 10:38-42)…
3. Then too there is the disease of mental and spiritual “petrification”. It is found in those who have a heart of stone, the “stiff-necked” (Acts 7:51-60), in those who in the course of time lose their interior serenity, alertness and daring, and hide under a pile of papers, turning into paper pushers and not men of God (cf. Heb 3:12). It is dangerous to lose the human sensitivity that enables us to weep with those who weep and to rejoice with those who rejoice!…
4. The disease of excessive planning and of functionalism. When the apostle plans everything down to the last detail and believes that with perfect planning things will fall into place, he becomes an accountant or an office manager. Things need to be prepared well, but without ever falling into the temptation of trying to contain and direct the freedom of the Holy Spirit, which is always greater and more flexible than any human planning (cf. Jn 3:8)…
5. The disease of poor coordination. Once its members lose communion among themselves, the body loses its harmonious functioning and its
equilibrium; it then becomes an orchestra which produces noise: its members do not work together and lose the spirit of fellowship and teamwork…
6. There is also a “spiritual Alzheimer’s disease”…It involves a progressive decline in the spiritual faculties which in the long or short run greatly handicaps a person by making him incapable of doing anything on his own, living in a state of absolute dependence on his often imaginary perceptions…
7. The disease of rivalry and vainglory.[11] When appearances, the colour of our clothes and our titles of honor become the primary object in life, we forget the words of Saint Paul: “Do nothing from selfishness or conceit but in humility count others better than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Phil 2:3-4)…
8. The disease of existential schizophrenia. This is the disease of those who live a double life, the fruit of that hypocrisy typical of the mediocre and of a progressive spiritual emptiness which no doctorates or academic titles can fill. It is a disease which often strikes those who abandon pastoral service and restrict themselves to bureaucratic matters, thus losing contact with reality, with concrete people…
9. The disease of gossiping, grumbling and back-biting. I have already spoken many times about this disease, but never enough. It is a grave illness which begins simply, perhaps even in small talk, and takes over a person, making him become a “sower of weeds” (like Satan) and in many cases, a cold-blooded killer of the good name of our colleagues and confrères. It is the disease of cowardly persons who lack the courage to speak out directly, but instead speak behind other people’s backs…
10. The disease of idolizing superiors. This is the disease of those who court their superiors in the hope of gaining their favour. They are victims of careerism and opportunism; they honour persons and not God (cf. Mt 23:8- 12). They serve thinking only of what they can get and not of what they should give. Small-minded persons, unhappy and inspired only by their own lethal selfishness (cf. Gal 5:16-25). Superiors themselves could be affected by this disease, when they court their collaborators in order to obtain their submission, loyalty and psychological dependency, but the end result is a real complicity…
11. The disease of indifference to others. This is where each individual thinks only of himself and loses sincerity and warmth of human relationships. When the most knowledgeable person does not put that knowledge at the service of his less knowledgeable colleagues. When we learn something and then keep it to ourselves rather than sharing it in a helpful way with others. When out of jealousy or deceit we take joy in seeing others fall instead of helping them up and encouraging them…
12. The disease of a lugubrious face. Those glum and dour persons who think that to be serious we have to put on a face of melancholy and severity, and treat others – especially those we consider our inferiors – with rigour, brusqueness and arrogance (having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities)…
13. The disease of hoarding. When an apostle tries to fill an existential void in his heart by accumulating material goods, not out of need but only in order to feel secure…
14. The disease of closed circles, where belonging to a clique becomes more powerful than belonging to the Body and, in some circumstances, to Christ himself…
15. Lastly: the disease of worldly profit, of forms of self-exhibition. When an apostle turns his service into power, and his power into a commodity in order to gain worldly profit or even greater power. This is the disease of persons who insatiably try to accumulate power and to this end are ready to slander, defame and discredit others, even in newspapers and magazines…

Given the stigmatization of homosexuality, individuals perceiving low autonomy support from parents may be especially motivated to conceal same-sex sexual attraction, leading to defensive processes such as reaction formation…

When this idealized view is threatened by contradictory thoughts or feelings, people engage in one or more unconscious processes to defend against the threat to self. What is groupthink?
Groupthink happens when groups strive for extreme consensus at the cost of effective decision making. They are more concerned with maintaining the unity of the group than with making the best decision. In such cases, independent thinking of group members is frowned upon and alternate suggestions are overridden in a bid to attain concurrence.
The group members in such a situation hold an unquestioned belief and have overconfidence in the group’s competence and morality, so much so that they may not question even ethically dubious decisions and actions of the group. Maintaining group loyalty becomes more important than putting forth one’s views.
How do you identify the presence of groupthink in your group? Watch out for these peculiar identifiable symptoms:
Interpersonal Pressure
Have you ever agreed with your friends because it was more convenient and made you look better? That’s precisely what happens in the case of interpersonal pressure. The pressure to reach a unanimous decision makes agreement look more desirable than disagreement. In addition to this, aggressive efforts are made in order to discourage and stifle dissent by group members, sometimes even leading to expulsion from the group.
Mind Guards
There are people in a group who purposely omit information that might cause doubts to arise within a group. They present the information in such a way that members of the group will all have the same opinion. If they receive any negative or controversial information, they shelter others from it, in order to preserve the central group idea. They also force any dissenting member into silence by pressuring and convincing him that the group may disintegrate if all the members are not in total agreement.
Self-censorship
Even if a group member has concerns with something that’s going on in the group, he may refrain from confiding to other members about those doubts and issues; he censors his own thoughts and opinions.
Apparent Unanimity
When members of the group censor their own dissension, it works to give the illusion of unanimity to the other group members. Even if many members of the group still disagree, they may not make their concerns known to other members, assuming that everyone else is already in acceptance of the situation.
The final resolutions of the group, therefore, seem to be unanimous, even though there may actually be many members of the group that disagree.
Illusion of invulnerability
Members of a group in which no one disagrees with anything may think that the group is performing very well. They are extremely self-assured and confident in the group’s ability to make decisions; they believe that the group as a whole could never go wrong. This overconfidence makes them think that they are strong in the face of any obstacle, allowing them to push aside clear and analytical thinking.
Illusion of morality
People have their own individual morals and values that they hold on to with all their heart. However, in the face of group pressures and in a bid to be included, they can lose sight of those morals. Excessive confidence in the overall morality of the group can override any individual sense of right and wrong.
Biased perceptions of the out-group
Members of a tightly cohesive group have a biased perception of any non-group members. They constantly discredit the abilities of the ‘outsiders’ and doubt their intentions. Ultimately, they perceive the outsiders as dumb, evil and/or weak. More importantly, the belief that others are inferior allows them to justify any inhumanity or violence present in their own actions.
Defective decision-making strategies
How do you make decisions? You list alternatives, weigh the pros and cons of each alternative, and then choose the best one. However, since many alternatives are omitted in groupthink situations, the decision that is finally made is based on an incomplete review of the issue at hand. In addition to this, there is a conscious omission of information and a focus on only the information that supports their currently agreed-upon course of action. Decisions made by such groups are, therefore, usually not the best ones.
What causes groupthink?
There are several well-known causes of groupthink—group cohesiveness, overall isolation of the group, rigid leadership and decisional stress.
We have seen how tightly cohesive groups become obsessed with conformation. The higher the level of cohesiveness, the higher the level of ‘apparent’ unanimity in the group and, therefore, the higher the level of self-censorship. The different perspectives needed to make a good decision are lost in a bid to maintain the cohesiveness of the group.
Just as excess group cohesiveness leads to a lack of perspectives from people within the group, group isolation makes the members lack perspective from people outside the group. Isolated groups often require their decisions and actions to remain secret, and therefore do not seek and incorporate outside opinions in their decision-making process. The absence of criticism, which is a natural result of this isolation, leads to the illusion of the group’s invulnerability and ultimate morality…

In brief, the idea of a homophobic trance (repressed dissociated) is NOT a static existence, a person’s sexual orientation is under the control of the autonomic nervous system functioning out of conscious awareness (NOT able to be consciously controlled or suppressed) like the heart beating or breathing, including sexual arousal - we do not need to remember to breath. Sexual orientation is functioning automatically, continuously and simultaneously on interrelated biological and psychological processes 24 hours a day 7 days a week throughout life like the heart.
A homophobic trance is a repressed dissociated state of varying degrees of awareness of the automatic, and continuous functioning of our sexual attraction and arousal to completely out of conscious awareness. Though we may be dissociated from our gay sexual orientation it does not stop its ongoing functioning. However, it will be expressed in any number of distorted ways that tend to become obsessive and addictive preventing and twisting the psychological development of the person, it is on the order of foot binding. The Vatican is filled with many persons who personalities have been twisted and distorted by a lifetime of forced suppression of their gay sexual orientation from early childhood years resembling on the order of feet that have been bounded for a lifetime. These are the poor sad souls that dominate the Vatican that Pope Francis referenced in his Christmas address to the curia ("12. The disease of a Lugubrious Face."). This is evidence enough that the Vatican’s teaching on homosexuality (not the Church’s teaching) is unsubstantiated by the bible or science causing lifetime harm to very young children beginning in early childhood as proven by the majority of the occupants in the Vatican and throughout the majority of the members of the RC hierarchy!!!

We need to have an open discussion on the science on homosexuality NOT with only members of the RC hierarchy BUT along with MORE authoritative experts in the field than the members of RC hierarchy - excluding Burke, Sarah and the like —- we are talking about protecting millions upon millions of future lives of children globally!!!!!!!!!!!
The fact that the majority of the members of the RC hierarchy have been existing living in a “homophobic trance” is clearly evident by their adamant refusal even to enter into any discussion regarding homosexuality and severely punishing and demonizing anyone in the Church who openly discusses the topic especially the science on homosexuality. Their fierce antigay behavioral reaction to the topic of homosexuality collectively (meaning they all react behaviorally and emotionally in the same way) that is surprisingly identical to the mind set of a very young child around the ages of 4 and 5 years old - who has been strongly scolded by a authoritarian parent demanding strict obedience with no questions allowed. This is the invisible norm that is part of the ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE of the RC hierarchy.
The fact that further identifies the majority of the members of the RC hierarchy as repressed dissociated homosexuals is the endless and pervasive adult gay sexual scandals that they
collectively
remain
completely oblivious
about. It is same type dissociation as with so many noted hostile antigay republican U.S. politicians haven been caught having gay sex in public restrooms. What is also extraordinary about the majority of the members of the RC hierarchy is the way they demonize gay people as the cardinal did with Mr. Cruz without evidence fiercely exaggerating Mr. Cruz as living “a life of perversion,” gay sexual pervasion. Without factual evidence the only gay perversion taking place is in the minds of the RC hierarchy, their own dissociated gay sexual fantasies being projected outward on people. What is most revealing about these antigay members of the RC hierarchy is their over the top obsession condemning adult gay pornography, when you listen to their condemnations you are hearing all their personal gay sexual thoughts and desires. Although, they are dissociated about their gay sexual orientation their words and actions endlessly most revealing to their true gay sexual orientation. NOT facing the TRUTH is deadly for the whole human race. Pope Francis was not wrong when in 2013 he stated:
“We have to find a new balance; otherwise even the moral edifice of the church is likely to fall like a house of cards, losing the freshness and fragrance of the Gospel.”

A standard-bearer of progressive thought at the Synod on the Family, Bishop Johan Bonny, admitted last night that he had been prevented from raising the issue of the pastoral care of gay Catholics in the gathering’s group discussions.
Bishop Bonny of Antwerp, who was in a group led by a senior African cardinal, Robert Sarah, said there had been no way of discussing the issue “in a peaceful way.”
Bonny was speaking at a press conference in Rome called by the three Belgian bishops at the synod on Friday night. Clearly alluding to tensions with Cardinal Sarah in the group, he said it was better to talk about the gay issue “in a positive way than in a bad atmosphere.”
In his synod intervention, Cardinal Sarah, Prefect for the Congregation for Divine Worship, reportedly compared “gender ideology” with Islamic State fundamentalism and Nazism.
The Belgian cardinals admitted that there had been no solution to their central concerns at the synod: Communion for divorced and remarried Catholics and a more pastoral approach to homosexuals. The reason for this, they said, was the growing dominance of Africa in the Catholic Church and the decline of Europe.
Bonny, who was appointed to the synod by Pope Francis, said bishops from the two continents came to the synod with contrasting ideas and experiences. Europe’s concerns were not “of primary concern” to the Africans.
On the gay issue Bishop Bonny said: “In the synod this question was not really discussed. Most bishops in western Europe speak more or less the same language but the atmosphere and readiness was not there at the synod.”
He said the Synod Fathers needed more time to consider the question of same sex unions. He said they needed to hear from biblical scholars, moral theologians, canon lawyers, and social scientists…

…Nationally, about 40 percent of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ. In Springfield, the average is higher - at 55 percent.
Reynolds says their sexual orientation is most likely the reason they ended up on the streets. Because they need shelter and food, homeless youth are a vulnerable target for labor and sex trafficking.
…”The biggest target right now is young gay men," said Reynolds.
It's a situation that can be even harder to spot. For any person looking from the outside, it can look like a normal relationship.
"A typical scenario would be if a young gay man would go to Martha's and then two or three days later he would tell me that he's been staying at an old gentleman's house," said Reynolds. "And everything was going great for a while, and then the older gentleman started asking for favors in return for staying there. That's sex trafficking."
The situation can escalate and go as far as that person forcing the youth to perform favors for others in exchange for shelter and other goods.
"A lot of the at-risk population that we have are the ones that are engaging in that survival sex, or having to give something in order to have a place to stay, and we would consider that unsafe housing," said Sudduth.
Reynolds says young gay men are also less likely to report.
"That's the last thing they're going to do, is to tell someone that they are being taken advantage of every night by another person," said Reynolds.
Reynolds believes what they are fighting are overwhelming religion implications in the area.
"It's sort of top heavy. There really isn't another answer. It's either this religion or not," she said. "It's difficult to fight that money and that power when that's what existed for so long. It sort of tends to lead a blind eye to what's happening on the underside of society."
"No one chooses to be homeless. No one chooses to be taken advantage of by an older gentleman. No one chooses to be sex trafficked," said Reynolds. "We've got to get past the religion oppression. It cannot matter anymore what you believe religiously, you have to look at them as a human being. It's that simple.”…

This week, a statement from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith made global headlines, saying that the church cannot bless gay unions and reiterating that they are “not ordered to the Creator’s plan.” The document said Pope Francis “assented” to its publication, which disappointed L.G.B.T. Catholics who had come to appreciate the pope’s more supportive tone.
But how closely did Pope Francis examine the document? This week on “Inside the Vatican,” America’s Rome correspondent Gerard O’Connell reveals that the document was drafted by a smaller group of people than would ordinarily be involved in writing this type of statement and that Pope Francis reviewed it just before his Iraq trip.
While it is unclear how much attention Pope Francis gave the document, Gerry says that it is significant that the document said the pope was “informed” and “assented to its publication,” a more hesitant phrasing than “approved” and “ordered its publication,” the terms the Vatican normally uses…

These courageous faith filled 12 RC Bishops demonstrated the profound LOVE of Jesus (Matthew 10:14-23, 37-42 and John 8:31-32) by helping to stop the (often violent) “anti-LGBTQ bullying in schools and faith communities” and the LGBTQ youths attempts at suicide, which is at disproportionately much higher rates “than their straight counterparts.”

ROME (AP) — Three cardinals close to Pope Francis defended a recent Holy See pronouncement that priests cannot bless same-sex unions as the Vatican faced outright dissent from some Catholic clergy and questions about the pontiff’s approval of the document…
Their comments came amid continuing criticism of the document released Monday by the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which said the Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex unions because God “cannot bless sin.”
In Austria, a group of dissident Catholic priests known as the Pfarrer-Initiative, or, the Pastors’ Initiative, said they were “deeply appalled” by the new decree and would not follow it.
“This is a return to times we had hoped with Pope Francis to get past,” the priests in Austria said in a statement. “We will, in solidarity with so many, not reject any loving couple in the future who asks to celebrate God’s blessing, which they experience every day, also in a worship service.”
The group, which was founded in 2006 by nine priests and today claims 350 members “from the official Roman Catholic Church,” said the decree “discredits Jesus’ liberating message.”

While some Catholic bishops — including a cardinal — recently signed a statement in support of LGBTQ youth, others released a statement opposing an executive order by the Biden administration extending federal nondiscrimination protections to LGBTQ people.
One statement, titled "God Is on Your Side: A Statement from Catholic Bishops on Protecting LGBT Youth," was released on the web page of the Tyler Clementi Foundation — a group that fights anti-LGBTQ bullying in schools and faith communities.
The statement says Jesus taught mercy and compassion for all, particularly those who are marginalized and persecuted, and that the catechism urges Catholics to treat LGBTQ people with "respect, compassion and sensitivity."
"All people of goodwill should help, support, and defend LGBT youth; who attempt suicide at much higher rates than their straight counterparts; who are often homeless because of families who reject them; who are rejected, bullied and harassed; and who are the target of violent acts at alarming rates," the bishops said in the statement.

Instead, they experienced continuously, as very young children at 4 and 5 years of age, the traumatic fear of parental rejection and abandonment for exhibiting outward signs of being gay - a concept that they at that age as children have yet to develop the mental capacity to have any understanding what “gay” means.
Therefore, they neverexperienced anyone showing them empathy - trying to understand who they are as an individual, instead they only experienced who their parents wanted them to be and out of childhood traumatic fear of parental abandonment they obeyed their parents without question. They never learned what empathy means, instead they learned how to be violent, how to inflict severe pain on others - with a lack of conscience. They are being raised in varying degrees to be sociopaths - to be as mean as you can be!!!
