Bush's Top Republican administration after 8 years left massive destruction, loss of human life in his wake - Ken Mehlman, President Bush's campaign manager announces he is gay on the 5-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina 2005. Overwhelmingly confusing

Top Republicans - 2000 Gore vs Bush in Florida governor Jeb Bush, 911 investigations obstructed cause unknown, no weapons of mass destruction, reason for going to war in Iraq, 2004 & 2006 elections Republicans use anti-gay initiatives, Republicans budget cuts to US infrastructure, Katrina 2005 - New Orleans levees collapse – no Federal recovery plan, 2008 major “Enron” like recession begins as Bush leaves office - not the best of times, except for top 1%.

“Ken Mehlman, President Bush's campaign manager in 2004 and a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, has told family and associates that he is gay…he wants to become an advocate for gay marriage…Mehlman's leadership positions in the GOP came at a time when the party was stepping up its anti-gay activities -- such as the distribution in West Virginia in 2006 of literature linking homosexuality to atheism…” The Atlantic, 8/25/10 Read more:

The most vital purpose of “Gay Marriage” - Marriage Equality - is that it restores the “hope of love” to children in early childhood – essential to their development and well-being for life. Read more:
Without Marriage Equality we teach children how to hate love and how to be mean and indifferent to people as adults. With all due respect, without Marriage Equality we would teach them in much the same way as has been shown by Benedict XVI and the hierarchy, especially in their lack of care and protection of children for decades. Ignorance about human sexuality is harmful to children. August 29, 2005: Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the Gulf Coast, destroying lives, leveling homes and leaving thousands of survivors with the same story: We lost everything. One year later, many still coped with Katrina's devastation. Some had moved forward, but for others recovery was at a standstill. Read more:

Linda Wertheimer’s broadcast on NPR, September 3, 2005, “Looking for Leadership in a Storm” regarding the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, she reports on the fact that
…four long days watching suffering people waiting has tested my resolve.
It seems to be a question of leadership. People who should be leading the effort to help seem disorganized and ill-informed, urging dying people to be patient, denying realities that our own reporters have seen, that we have all seen. Local leaders are reduced to pleading on the national news for the personnel and vehicles and supplies needed to provide basic necessities for victims. And help must come from the outside. Local fire and police departments are filled, after all, with people whose own grandmothers are marooned on the second floor of a flooded house, whose own family homes are reduced to splinters, whose own families need their help. Outside troops and trucks and boats, buses, planes and helicopters are needed and, thankfully, are finally beginning to arrive. Read more or Listen - Linda Wertheimer – National Public Radio (NPR) http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4831405

This is WEEKEND EDITION from NPR News. I'm Linda Wertheimer.
Mayor RAY NAGIN (New Orleans): They don't have a clue what's going on down here. They flew down here one time two days after the doggone event was over with TV cameras, AP reporters, all kind of (censored), excuse my French, everybody in America, but I am pissed…
WERTHEIMER: Yes. Usually we try to give a review of all the week's news in this segment, but the devastation from Hurricane Katrina has been so huge we thought we'd stick to that single subject today, and we need to look at both the human and the governmental aspects, because it's become truly a crisis at both levels. Let's start with the human side. Lives were disrupted; many died in Mississippi and Alabama, as well as in New Orleans. But it was in New Orleans where the most people have been affected. What struck you as you heard and read about it?
SCHORR: Well, of course, you are struck by the immensity of it and the tragedy of it, but there was one additional thing that struck me and that is a disaster is not an equal-opportunity thing. When they called for evacuation from New Orleans, those with cars drove out. Those without cars got stuck there. And those without cars were predominantly black and poor people. That struck me.

WERTHEIMER: What about reports that there were budget cuts, that FEMA had its budget cut, that there were cuts in the budgets to repair the levees, all of that kind of thing?
SCHORR: Well, that's right. The city and the state frequently came up with plans for what to do about the infrastructure there. I mean, they were aware they're living below sea level; they depend on the levees and there's work that has to be done. The Corps of Engineers would come up with projects; the city would come up with projects, the congressional delegations of Louisiana would go and ask for this amount of money to do something about the infrastructure, including these levees. And during the past several years, each time the amount of money they asked would be cut quite drastically by an administration which was very much involved in cutting taxes and paying for an war in Iraq. Read more or listen: Linda Wertheimer And Daniel Schorr - NPR http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4831402
With all due respect, Hurricane Katrina 2005 was a visual display of how little if at all the top Republicans in the Bush administration and in Congress, at that time, cared about the American people, though not all Republicans. This scenario, this pattern of leadership behavior or lack there of, had been repeated beyond belief at every level of our government, during the Bush’s Republican administration. It has brought us to our present most devastating “Enron” like recession, which we are still all struggling through to recover from, though not all. Why are some people not suffering? What happened? Again, just “follow the money” to see who profited from this recession.  Greed was and remains rampant. The words of Emma Lazarus written on the Statue of Liberty had long been forgotten.
Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! http://www.statueliberty.net/statue-of-liberty-poem.html
Now, “Ken Mehlman, President Bush's campaign manager in 2004 and a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, has told family and associates that he is gay.” The Atlantic, 8/25/10

Katrina 2005, the lack of leadership traumatized many Americans and any verbal remarks made that even resemble the slightest similarity will replay the same traumatizing effects, again. It is something like being shellshock, instantly registering the same traumatic reactions.

Ken Mehlman, stated that Karl Rove “…had been working with Republicans to make sure that anti-gay initiatives and referenda would appear on November ballots in 2004 and 2006 to help Republicans." This is very troublesome, because the information, the facts, the research regarding sexual orientation have been available for decades for any one to read, including harm caused the children in early childhood who are growing-up to be LGBT by unsubstantiated antigay social and religious norms. To use antigay initiatives is willful neglect, which severely harmed several generations of children worldwide.  These devastating facts about the Bush’s top Republican administration regarding their anti-gay initiatives and referenda bare the same fingerprints, DNA, the same pattern for the lack of leadership before, during and the aftermath of Karina 2005, like the false reasons that led us into the War with Iraq, etc.

And it is always a delight when anyone comes out and we only wish the person the very best. Ken Mehlman’s coming out, however, is over shadowed by the devastating harm of the Bush’s Republican administration to the American people and to the world for 8 years. Because of the traumatizing effects of the recent past the needless war in Iraq, the tremendous lost innocents lives and the 5th anniversary of Katrina, the timing of Ken Mehlman’s coming out naturally raises many quick reactionary questions. It grieves one to say that Bush’s Republican administration was unconscionable. In 50 years when much of Bush’s generation is dead and buried will the truth about his Republican administration be written. It will go down as one of the darkest times in American history, because of their blatant disregarded for human life and foolish manipulation of the news media. A similar shocking history will be written about the Roman Catholic Church, the return to the Dark Ages under Cardinal Ratzinger and as Benedict XVI. Both Bush and Benedict XVI had a flagrant disregard for human life. The research facts about sexual orientation has been known and available for decades, both in their high leadership position chose to ignore, dismiss this information and freely spoke against innocent adults and children, including their families, parents, siblings and friends.

Now with the written judgment of Judge Vaughn Walker concerning proponents of California Prop 8 barring “gay marriage” that they lack any factual data to support their case. Judge Walker clearly stated that “Religious beliefs that gay and lesbian relationships are sinful or inferior to heterosexual relationships harm gays and lesbians.” Judge Walker’s judgment called the world public attention to the facts of sexual orientation and the severe harm and death caused to these adults and children by those who chose to ignore these facts. The truth in Judge Walker’s judgments (based on research facts) convicts many world leaders, but most especially Bush and Benedict XVI.

Ken Mehlman coming out of Bush’s top Republican administration and coming out as gay is caused for overwhelming confusion. Only Ken Mehlman knows if he is an honest man and his future involvement and deeds  in nurturing all human life will speak to his honesty. Wholeheartedly, I want to believe in his sincerity to make a difference for the better in the world, but like so many of us we have been hurt too many times and witness the devastating harm to others and needless deaths, too many, way too many needless deaths – it is hard to ignore these overwhelming facts of harm. It was all grievously wrong, inhuman, against all we know to be true, and good and loving. Unconscionable. Time is needed. But of course, one wants to wish Ken Mehlman the very best and the best of luck working for gay marriage.
